DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Andersen is hiring a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to provide expert AWS support for an ERP system, ensuring high reliability and zero downtime for smooth, uninterrupted operations across regions.

The customer is a leading provider of automotive services, offering a wide range of solutions including roadside assistance, car repairs, tire and battery replacement, fuel delivery, and towing. With a focus on fast response times and customer satisfaction, the company operates across multiple regions, leveraging modern technology for service management. Their platform integrates mobile and digital services, enabling customers to easily request and schedule services.

The project is focused on providing expert-level AWS support for an ERP system running on AWS. The goal is to ensure high reliability and zero downtime, prioritizing expertise and performance to maintain smooth and uninterrupted operations.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and operating a highly available ERP system on AWS.
• Owning AWS architecture, infrastructure, and operational stability end-to-end.
• Deploying application updates with zero or near zero downtime.
• Implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Leading full ERP recovery in case of AWS account suspension.
• Migrating databases with minimal data loss during incidents or migrations.
• Transferring file storage (S3/EFS) across AWS accounts.
• Executing DNS cutovers to minimize downtime.
• Monitoring ERP health and responding to incidents.
• Diagnosing and resolving performance degradation and outages.
• Defining and executing safe upgrade and rollback procedures.
• Securing servers, databases, backups, and access controls.
• Responding to security breaches and ransomware scenarios.
• Continuously optimizing AWS costs and removing unused resources.
• Owning critical systems while delegating non-critical tasks.

Must-haves:

• Hands-on AWS experience in production environments for 5+ years.
• Strong experience designing high-availability AWS architectures.
• Deep understanding of EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda and their real-world tradeoffs.
• Experience with zero-downtime deployments and safe release strategies.
• Hands-on backup and disaster recovery implementation.
• Real experience recovering systems after major outages or failures.
• Ability to migrate databases with minimal or no data loss.
• Experience with cross-account AWS migrations (compute, storage, data).
• Strong AWS security knowledge (IAM, access control, audits).
• Experience responding to security incidents or ransomware threats.
• Production monitoring and incident response experience.
• Strong AWS cost optimization and cost-control mindset.
• Experience operating high-volume email infrastructure (SES or similar).
• High ownership mindset; comfortable making critical decisions under pressure.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+.

• Proven ownership of mission-critical ERP systems.
