Role:

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Scala 2/3 and modern functional programming paradigms. Focus on building reliable, concurrent, and type-safe systems using FP libraries and reactive architectures. You are not just writing APIs - you are designing correct, composable, and observable systems.

You are an engineer who:

• Thinks in types, immutability, and pure functions;

• Designs systems using functional abstractions and effect systems;

• Treats concurrency and parallelism as first-class concerns;

• Builds resilient distributed systems;

• Owns the full lifecycle: design - implementation - production - observability - optimization.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Strong experience with Scala;

• English proficiency level: B2;

• Hands-on with at least one: ZIO, Cats Effect, Akka;

• Deep understanding of: Functional Programming (FP), Type systems & type-level programming, Immutability & referential transparency;

• Experience building REST/gRPC APIs;

• Microservices architecture;

• Event-driven architecture;

• Message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ);

• Relational DB: PostgreSQL / MySQL;

• NoSQL: MongoDB / Cassandra (optional but valuable);

• Caching: Redis.

Cloud & DevOps

• Docker;

• Kubernetes / container orchestration;

• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins);

• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana / ELK stack;

• Cloud platforms: AWS / GCP / Azure.

Nice to Have / Bonus Points

• High-load / low-latency systems;

• Security-focused mindset.
